KCA University held its 18th and second mid-year graduation ceremony on July 4, 2025, dispatching more than 2,350 graduates to the world of work with a powerfully-worded theme: “Innovate. Elevate. Impact!”
The event brought together families, friends, faculty, and university stakeholders to celebrate the new graduates drawn from the School of Business, School of Technology, School of Education, Arts and Social Sciences, and the Professional and Technical Training Institute. These clusters reflect the institution’s commitment to offering market-relevant programmes that empower global citizens who drive socio-economic transformation.
Founded in 1989 to primarily train Certified Public Accountants, KCA University has evolved into a dynamic institution of higher learning that not only equips students for professional certification, but also shapes thinkers, innovators and leaders from Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, South America, the United Kingdom, and beyond.
More than 1,000 students graduated from the KCA University Professional and Technical Training Institute (PTTI), a powerful reflection of the University’s strategic investment in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET)tobridge the hands-on skills gapby producing competent, work-ready professionals equipped to meet the demands of the 21st-century job market.
Through TVET programmes, the university is empowering young people with hands-on training and contributing to national economic transformation by fuelling sectors such as accounting, ICT, entrepreneurship, logistics, and hospitality, with skilled talent. This affirms the University’s position as a key driver of Kenya’s workforce development agenda, aligning education with industry needs and skills of the future.
KCA University continues to foster diversity, with foreign students representing about 20 nationalities from Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America.
The power of education is not simply to get credentials, but to connect. In nurturing global citizens, the university is cultivating empathy, adaptability and critical inquiry – qualities that transcend borders and disciplines.
In this era of global complexity, it is not enough to produce skilled graduates alone, but those who are culturally aware, ethically grounded, and globally minded.
At the core of its values, the university also champions equity and inclusion, ensuring that learning technologies, physical infrastructure and the delivery of academic content are accessible to all students, including those with disabilities. This inclusive culture enhances the learning experience and allows students to pursue their careers regardless of physical limitations.
In a commitment to foster innovation and applied research, 31 staff members and 12 students were recognised at the graduation ceremony for excellence in research, innovation and commercialisation. This spirit of innovation is also cultivated during the Innovation Week, an annual event that showcases cutting-edge student projects, fosters industry collaboration, and accelerates ideas that address Africa’s development challenges. The event also offers a platform for students to network with start-ups, tech incubators, and global partners.
Beyond graduation, the university’s calendar remains active with other key events such as career fairs, entrepreneurship forums, and sports tournaments, all designed to nurture holistic students and equip them with real-world opportunities and lifelong networks.
