Fulfil polls promises • Leaders should always set a good example by walking the talk, says Naf Muriu. “The beautiful party manifestos and sweet promises they make should be fulfilled. Let the leaders promote the great values of integrity, unity, respect, truthfulness and faithfulness. This way, I am sure, the great enemies of progress such as corruption will automatically die.” His contact is [email protected].

Never learnt • Leonard Mambo, a giant in radio broadcasting, who made his name with his signature programme, ‘Je, Huu ni Ungwana?’, years ago, has gone forever, mourns Kamichore Mutindira. “He was a teacher who simplified etiquette into easy concepts similar to the CBC. We never learnt those ungwana lessons and remain tribal, corrupt, immoral and harbour hatred.” His contact is [email protected].

Sketchy • Hawk-eyed Jonah Gachuki, perhaps keen to monitor public spending by Nyeri County, and though he doesn’t disclose when this was, strongly believes that it may have paid for half-a-page of an obituary in a daily newspaper for someone who is neither an employee nor a top official. He poses: “Is there a provision for such expenditure?” For the details, his email address is [email protected].

Children’s park • A new resident of Limuru town in Kiambu County, Linda Agutu, says she was quite delighted to find a children’s park just next to Tigoni Police Station. “It’s a real delight for them, with its brightly coloured swings, slides and see-saws, and it’s free of charge for the residents. What a worthy cause! I wish other towns could borrow a leaf from here.” Her contact is [email protected].

Partisan • The 13th Parliament will be remembered for having been the most partisan in the country’s history and doing little to check, scrutinise, and combat corruption, says David Githae. “The MPs ignore public outcries and instead follow the government’s bidding to rubber-stamp questionable projects. Come the 2027 elections, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” ([email protected]).

Have an exemplary day, won’t you!
