Ruto government shouldn't fear Butere play on graft

Paranoid • The government has become paranoid like the biblical Peter, who denied Jesus Christ three times, notes Kamichore Mutindira, alluding to the Butere Girls High School play Echoes of War. “The government is fearful of the girls’ play on corruption. Instead of giving contradictory statements, it can avoid negative criticism by just doing the right thing.” His contact is [email protected].

Solution • After the Butere Girls School team failed to stage their play at the Nakuru national festival finals, President William Ruto should salvage the situation by allowing them to perform for him at State House with the others, says Dr Kennedy Mochabo. “After all, we’ve seen him dancing to the popular Kasongo song from which his nickname was derived.” His contact is [email protected].

Danger • The on-going construction of buildings near the Wilson Airport’s eastern fence at Phenom Estate in Nairobi is worrying James Gakuo. He poses: “Is the airport security aware of the possible consequences of this? Are we, as the local residents, really safe? The Kenya Airports Authority must come out and fully explain to us what is really happening.” His contact is [email protected].

Neglect • Construction sites and drainage manholes in Nairobi are either poorly marked or not at all, laments Brian Maitai. “Many are invisible at night. The Kangemi Bridge has deep trenches near the police station. Manholes at Nyayo House are six feet deep and hidden behind mounds of dirt with no safety nets for construction debris. Can the city county act?” His contact is [email protected].

Imprisoned • Some young undergraduates, Churchill Amatha says, “are serving up to 20 years in jail for having sex with underage girls”. He lays blame solely on newfound freedom the boys enjoy on joining the universities. “They met girls who never declared their age only for them to engage with 16-year-olds. The law should be reviewed to save the boy child.” His contact is [email protected].

Have a rescusable day, won’t you!
